There are two types of badminton forehand clear: flat and long. The flat forehand clear is an aggressive shot while the long high clear is a defensive shot.
The main objective of this is to let the shuttlecock fly high and deep to your opponent`s backcourt. It is called a " clear " because it clears your opponent`s court. Your opponent is at the back so the entire mid court up to the net is all clear. This can also be threatening for players who are not great at generating great power and are slow in the court. This is an essential skill for beginners.
