My Equipment

I was hoping to be able to do a sort of tournament report on the Yonex BC Senior Elite, but it just happened to be "Postponed" (Until next season, probably). So I will do a little on my equipment. I am a very material based person, so I really love badminton equipment. I recently (I define a year ago as "Recently") signed on a pretty good deal with Black Knight Canada, so they are in charge of my racquets, bags, and clothing. I am pretty fond of BK Racquets. However I really disagree with the amateur philosophy that a $200+ racquet with super thin string, strung at 32 pounds will make you a better player. It will only make you look really cool when you're losing. Especially if it is a chromed out BK racquet :).
The racquets I'm currently working right now are the new BK Taper 20s. I really like the Taper series, it is much better than any of the other series by BK. I like the extreme chrome orange and white cosmetics of the Taper 20 too. I usually string it with Ashaway Zymax 67 at 28 pounds by 30 pounds. The 67 is actually really durable for a string of this gauge. When I am training I usually try to use a .70 gauge to avoid having to string all my racquets everyday. It really saves a lot of money when you string your own racquets.
I have tried a lot of different kinds of racquets. Yonex and Victor are good. I like the Arcsaber 10 and Armortec 900 Technique by Yonex, and the Meteor X80 by Victor. But the BK Taper series have crazy frame stability. No frame distortion when stringing at all. But in the end racquets all boil down to what YOU like, and what type of player you are.
