There are a lot of negative stereotypes associated with chasing dreams. A
lot of people use the word "Hopelessly" when describing someone taking
the initiative to do what they want to do. I have been described as
"Just like all the teenagers who move to Hollywood to pursue acting,
waiting for themselves to be made." This is totally not the case. Of
course, all the kids who move to Hollywood and "Wait" for their dreams
to come to them, instead of taking it into their own hands, won't make
it. True dreamers (Not fake ones) will make their own dreams happen.
Saying you will become something, and making it happen are two
completely different things. Ever notice that every single person has
wild dreams? Ever notice that only one percent of these "Dreamers"
actually attempt to achieve those wild dreams? I go to the badminton
center every single day and work myself into the ground because I am
doing what I love to do. Even though my dreams seem unrealistic now, If I
don't at least try to achieve them, I will be stuck everyday thinking
"What if I had tried?". Now, even if I don't make it in the end, at
least I will know that I gave it everything I had, and it just wasn't
meant to be. But I don't worry about that much, because my life is
amazing. Just because I do what I love every single day.
Ninety percent of the kids in my school want to be accountants when
they grow up. They don't actually want to be accountants of course, but
their parents want them to be "Successful". In my eyes, you are only
successful if you are happy. If you want to fly planes, FLY PLANES!
In the end, if you aren't doing what you love, what are you doing?
